We have been successful in obtaining a $4,860,065.00 Grant for the upgrade of our Astronomical Science Centre!

We would like to acknowledge the amazing contributions from AW Edwards, Jennifer Waring, Adrian McKelvie, Leslie Williams MP and Patrick Conaghan MP (Federal) for helping us achieve this goal, but there are many more who have worked tirelessly to get us to this point also.

So what’s next?

Friday 16th July Port Macquarie Panthers TAPP Bar - We celebrate! Join us for a drink to celebrate this fantastic achievement at Port Macquarie Panthers TAPP Bar on Friday the 16th July from 5.30pm, we would love to see you there.

Saturday 7th August - Information Session. We know you will have lots of questions about how this will be implemented or how it might affect you.

We need a few weeks ourselves to consult with the Public Works Advisory Committee and other stakeholders, so we are planning to hold an information session on Saturday the 7th August, 2-4pm to fill you in and answer any questions you might have. It will be at the Observatory unless we go over our COVID capacity, if so, we will advise you of the new venue closer to the date. For this reason if you wish to attend please register via Trybooking.

It is with great excitement and pleasure that we let you know the Member for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams MP (State) and Patrick Conaghan MP (Federal) have just announced that we obtained a $4,860,065 grant.

Our project is one of 195 (out of 650) locally led applications that were selected to receive funding across fire impacted regions in NSW, and will collectively contribute to rebuilding the economic and social wellbeing of communities in NSW.

This is a fantastic achievement, and will enhance our ability to inspire local, regional and visitor communities to engage with our universe and reach a better understanding of earths place in it and we thank you all for your support along the way.
