Open Nights At The Port Macquarie Observatory
The Port Macquarie Astronomical Association feel responsible for your health and well-being and would like to contribute to slowing down the spread of Coronavirus. We have decided to suspend all activities at our observatory until further notice. Thank you for your understanding and we hope to see you again soon.
Open Nights are held on Wednesday and Sunday nights.
Please note that each Open Night a maximum 60 people can be accommodated inside the premises (for safety reasons). Entry is by the first 60 people to come to the door – bookings are not available at this time.

Presentation starts at half past the hour.
Entertaining presentations cover various astronomical topics, or take you for a tour of the night sky and our place in the universe with spectacular images of astronomical objects.
After the presentation, weather permitting, the evening ends with a look at an astronomical object through the observatory's telescope. The presentation goes for about 1 hour and is held regardless of weather.
A gift shop has many inexpensive, educational and fun items for purchase.
Student age 16+ $10.00
Children 5-16 $6.00
Families (2 Adults 2 Children) $30. Children under 5 years free.
Group bookings are available for groups of 20 or more. Content of the presentation can be arranged to suit the requirements of the group.
We cater for all types of groups including primary school groups, high school groups, service groups, community groups, church groups and special interest groups.
